Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eye Palette in "750 Edgitorial" ::: Review & Swatches!!

My last blog-post was on NARS Liquid Blush that was published back in June - it has been two months since! I know it is a terribly long gap but I don't want to apologize! Mainly because it will not be an earnest one!

So, why I was MIA? My parents were here for last three months and this has been one of the most eventful summer in a long while! I had few amazing trips and had many get together with friends and family that I have not met in a while. I have been living alone for a LONG time now and I almost forgot how it was to live with people :-) It was nice being a host, at one point I had about 10 people sleep in my tiny humble abode. The best of all was to come home to my parents after a long day at work and of course Maa Ke Hathon Ka Khana :-)

They have returned now and it has definitely taken me a bit to go back to my regular life. I love makeup and I really enjoy learning the art! But it is taking me a bit to go back to regular blogging; work also has been CRAZY! Okay, enough excuses! I actually meant to talk about this palette today. First of all, I got this complimentary from Influenster! I have never gotten this lucky to get a beautiful, new eyeshadow palette from a prestigious brand via Influenster (@influenster) :-) Marc Jacobs (@marcbeauty) recently launched these 6 new Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eye Palettes.

I got the "750 Edgitorial"! Here is what I found on Marc Jacobs website "LONGWEARING EYESHADOW PALETTES FEATURING FOUR NEW FASHION FINISHES-VELVET, SATIN, SILK AND LAMÉ-TO LAYER AND DRESS YOUR EYES. EMPOWER YOUR INNER EYE STYLIST WITH THESE ULTRA-LUXE EYESHADOW PALETTES EACH FEATURING FOUR FASHION FINISHES: BUTTERY MATTE VELVET, SHIMMERING SATIN, SPARKLING SILK AND METALLIC LAMÉ. EACH CURATED PALETTE INCLUDES A COVETABLE MIX OF CHIC NEUTRAL, WEARABLE SHADES AND PROVOCATIVE POPS IN A NEW SUPER-PLUSH SHADOW FORMULATION TO COVER LIDS IN LASTING, VELVETY-RICH PIGMENT. AVAILABLE IN SIX DIFFERENT COLORWAYS, CHOOSE THE WARDROBE THAT SPEAKS TO YOU, THEN LAYER IT ON TO MAKE THE ULTIMATE IMPRESSION."

Price & Availibility: This palette will cost you $49! These are available on Sephora.com as well as on Marc Jacobs Website . There are 7 eyeshadows with 0.03 oz. (0.85g) of product each shade. Continue to the end of the post to check what I think about the price.

Packaging: I mean, Marc Jacobs always gets the packaging 100% right! This is in their typical black packaging. It is compact, sturdy which makes it easy to store and to travel with! The mirror can also be used when you are in a pinch! I have nothing bad to say about the packaging.

Shades: As mentioned previously, there are seven shades in different finishes. If I would to buy this palette myself this particular shades in my palette would not be my first choice! I don't typically gravitate towards all the shades in this palette. Here are the shades -

Take a memo (Matte): Pale Beige shade with a subtle hint of light pink. Very soft and oh-so-easy to blend. I can use to blend my crease shades but I would assume if you have skintones lighter than me this is going to a very useful shade.
Next Season (Satin-y metallic): Another gorgeous shade that I think will be more suitable on lighter skintones. But I have use it on the inner corner. You need just a little to get that pop of brightness! I really enjoy this shade.
We'll see (Matte): This is matte brown shade that is a tad richer that what I like to call my perfect crease shade. But I still love to use it. Inclusion of this shade makes this palette truly travel friendly. you can use it as crease shade or on the outer corner to add more depth. Definitely one of my most-used shade out of this palette.
Pleather Python (Sparkle): The finish of this eyeshadow is quite metallic and I love it. It is deep burnt gold shade and it really suits my skintone. Also, it really looks awesome with Indian color-rich clothes. Every time I do a look with this palette, I cannot stop myself using this shade.
Making a Scene (Satin): Beautiful everyday Taupe shade! Very soft and extremely pigmented! Very pigmented!
Enviously (Matte): This has to be my least favorite. I am not at all drawn to this type of shade, but I can use it in multiple ways. On the crease, outer v or on the lower lash-line. It is soft and blendable but for some reason, I felt "We will See" and "Take a memo" had a better consistency and quality than this shade.
Everywhere (Satin-y metallic): This is another shade that is not something I will get a lot of use out if it. It is a deep blackened olive with gold tiny sparkles. It is very pigmented and easy to work with!

Quality & Formula: As I already mentioned with each shade, almost all of them are opaque, very pigmented and oh-so-easy to work with. The shades here are of the same genre so if you use 2-3 shades on the lid, they seem to lose their individuality. What I am trying to say here is that the blendability of these shades works great for everyday easy, go-to looks but if you want to indulge in some creative looks where you want each shades to shine on its own, there are better shadows are there!

Weartime: This is another thing that have a bit of scope for improvement. I always use my Mac Paint Pot; by the end of the day I felt that my eyeshadows kind of fades! But, it did not turn messy or anything, but I would have liked it to be more visible & strong!

I love the shimmers and metallic shades in this palette, but I have used better matte eyeshadows. For the packaging and the product, I think I will be willing to pay $49 but I will always be sure to score the freebies if I am to buy from Sephora :-)

Have any of you received this palette? If yes, which one and do you like it?

Meet & Greet with Mr NARS and an awesome new liquid blush :-)

I recently had an opportunity to attend a book signing event by the renowned makeup artist and photographer Francois Nars. He is the Founder & Creative Director of NARS Cosmetics and I am sure we all either know about the brand and/or have used one or few products from them. He recently launched his self-titled book celebrating his work over the decades. I still have not have the chance to read the book though!

Francois Nars founded NARS Cosmetics in 1994. I am very well aware of the brand (thanks to YouTube and Instagram) but apart from his name, I know very little about Mr. Nars. I still decided to purchase the book and participate in the event - it was a personal project. One of my gentle resolution for this year is to do things that I have not done before; things that may be outside my comfort zone. I am not an easy-going, overly extrovert person and the idea of going to an event to meet a celebrity definitely falls in my uncomfortable zone!

I was a little apprehensive about the whole event but I had such a nice experience! Please keep in mind that I am not very much educated about his work and I have tried just a handful of NARS Product, so I was definitely not fangirling! But from the moment he arrived at the event he was smiling, and taking his time to start small talk! He was complimenting all his fans with genuine intention. I have a lower voice, so I immediately got concerned thinking that he would not be able to hear me :-) but he instantly made me feel comfortable! My entire conversion with him lasted only 2 or 3 minutes but he managed to compliment me and ask me if I want a photograph. He was not even rushing through the process. I think humility is what makes a successful person so loveable and admirable!

I am glad I forced myself to act outside my comfort zone.  As a beauty blogger by hobby and as a avid make up lover, I think my first “meet and greet” went on perfectly fine, thanks to Mr. Nars!

Of course, that `feel-good` feeling from the event later that night encouraged me to check out some of the new stuff from the brand! I wanted to get their Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in famous “Mysterious Red” as well but there was a glitch in the system and I could not add it to my cart. I only managed to order their new Liquid Blush in “Dolce Vita”.

I know that you are not interested in my personal jibber jabber! But I have noticed that as I age more, I have harder time taking decision; particularly while taking decisions about very unimportant stuffs! For example – I had the hardest time determining which shade to pick – Dolce vita or Torrid? Is Torrid too light or is Dolce Vita too dark? Do I already have shades like these? Which one to pick? Should I pick both? NOT REALLY, coz I don’t have money for both! Ugh!

After much deliberation, I finally settled on Dolce Vita. There are four different shades that they are launching for summer 2017 – Orgasm, Torrid, Luster and Dolce Vita. All these shades are available in their cult favorite powder blush formula. Check these shades here (photo by @youngwildandpolished. They also released their famous orgasm shade in lipstick formula.

Price and Availability: This liquid blush will cost you $30 for 0.5 oz. of product. You can find these on Sephora online and in stores, Nars boutiques, Nordstrom, Barneys and Saks Fifth Avenue. It has already launched in some of these stores but it will launch very soon in all of them and online.

PackagingNars always does a great job in terms of packaging. I know that the black packaging attracts a lot of stain and dirt, but I love the look of their products. And it is a cost I am willing to pay. This blush come in a beautiful glass jar that has a pump. The pump is actually very easy to control. I find that a full pump is somewhat more than what I need to apply on both my cheeks. If I am careful and use only a ¾ of a pump, it is the perfect amount! It is a gorgeous bottle and is not very bulky. I do have a concern about the packaging; sometimes when I try to pull off the lid, somehow it unscrews the pump inside and there is a significant concern about getting the liquid product getting spilled. It did happen to me once and I spilled about 3-4 drops But I am now more careful while opening it.

Shade: Dolce Vita is a beautiful dusty rose shade. It is described as a matte with natural finish. I do however see a tiny little bit of sheen in it. It definitely a flattering shade on me, it also works on my mom. She is 2-3 shades darker than me but it shows up beautifully on her as well. Unfortunately, I don’t have its powder counterpart so I am not able to show you comparison. I will like to refer you to MLBB blog; she has a detailed post on this.

Quality & Formula: In general, I do enjoy cream formula especially during the weekdays; cream products are quick and versatile for me. This blush has great pigmentation but it is quite buildable. I squirt 3/4th of pump on my palm and apply a few drops with my finger tips and blend it. Often, when I use a cream/liquid blush I don’t feel the need to use a brush to blend the product. But with this one, I feel that I get a better and more seamless application when I further blend this blush with a brush! When I was watching Young Wild and Polished videos on these, she was highly suggesting that they work over powder unlike other cream/liquid blush formulas! I did try it over powder and yes, it does not lift the powder underneath. For some of you who uses powder bases, this might be a great advantage. Overall, I am really happy with the pigmentation, blend-ability and the ease of application!
By the way, the formula reminds me of the Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush formula from Stila (I have reviewed "Water Lily" here). Nars one is a bit light-weight on the cheeks while Stila blush gets a bit greasy by the end of the day.

WeartimeLet’s talk about the staying power. In short, I am utterly impressed! I have been wearing it non-stop since I got it. I have worn it over bare, just moisturized skin. I have worn it over my beloved Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation, and over powder foundation. I often use Benefit Porefessional on my cheeks, but I do have to agree that the wear time is incredible. Typically, over bare skin, it kind of fades when I get home after 8-9 hrs. long work day. But over foundation, it lasts for the entire time till I wash off my face at the end of the day.

Look at the picture above. I applied my makeup around 9 in the morning and went off to St. Louis with my parents for a quick getaway. It was a relatively warm day, and we were walking, driving the entire time. By the time we wrapped up our Getaway Arch visit and headed back to the parking lot, it was raining profusely. We had to walk in the rains for at least 15 mins. Then drove 2 hrs. back to our hotel in Springfield. I was amazed to see that the blush was still proudly hanging on my cheeks even after that heavy rain and daylong torture. In fact, I have worn it many times when going out for day long trips and it has performed really well every time.

Another important thing, you have to shake it well before using it. Otherwise, as you can see in the picture, the blush tends to condensate a bit.

This was on a separate day, but my foundation got a bit darker :-( just wanted to sow you all my failure :-)
If you can’t already tell, I am really enjoying this product. It is an easy and work-horse type of a formula. I just need to practice a little bit of patience when opening the cap and use the pump. This will definitely be in my June Favorites :-)

Monthly Favorites ::: May 2017

I have some exciting and relatively new products for this month`s favorite. This is rare for me; typically, I always end up using or loving older products from my collection with just one or two new staff. I am well aware that this is almost mid-June but my parents are here with me and I am trying to spend as much time as I can with them, obviously blogging has taken a backseat. No regret though!

Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer in 001 and 003: First- it is luxury product and for me it was an indulgent purchase! But the best thing about this is that I love the formula! I absolutely adore the shades as well, I love how easy it is to layer and blend! Love the wet glossy look it gives me and I enjoy how long it stays on me. Overall a very well performing luxury product that makes me feel happy.

Marc Jacobs Omega Coconut Bronzer in TanTastic: Oh, another luxury purchase! I have shared here my exhaustive story on how I ended up buying this. You can also see detailed review and swatches! I have said before, I can make the shade work but it is not necessarily the best on my skin tone. I am really loving the formula; the smell is unnecessary but a nice-feel good detail! The powder is very soft, easy to pick up and apply. It blends beautifully. It is quite buildable which is a very good quality in a bronzer. And, I absolutely adore the white packaging.

Colourpop Pressed Shadows in Come and Get it & High Strung: I rarely use Colourpop Super Shock shadows, But I do really LOVE them. When they come out with pressed eyeshadows I did not pay attention! These past few weeks, they were running a promotion of 3 eyeshadows @ 10$ and I picked up three shades. I got High Strung, Come and Get It & Sandbar.
I wanted to get colors that are satin or shimmer but is appropriate and fast for a no- fuss `wear to work` look. These two shades fit the bill perfectly and I actually find them to be interesting. I knew for sure that these will be good but I did not expect to fall in love with them. I have used both shades with or without primer and both times they perform beautifully. I can just use my fingertips to apply this on the lid and if I don’t have time I can skip using a crease shade. They still remain wearable. I actually have been wearing just `Come and Get It` on the lid alone with a lot of mascara. It is an intense duo chrome of peach and gold. I prefer this  just a little bit more than `High Strung`.

Lakme 9 to 5 Matte Lipstick: Lakme is a nostalgic brand for me. I keep buying products from them because it reminds me of my home ! I don't  necessarily see myself loving their product enough to put in a favorite.  But this month, I am really enjoying this this matte lipstick. It’s a great everyday lipstick shade on me.

Makeup Geek Cosmetics (MUG) Eyeshadows in Tuscan Sun and Crème Brule: MUG was unbelievably reigning the single-pan sector for last 3 or 4  years. But with the new Colourpop pressed shadows having very similar (or comparable) quality at slightly affordable prices coupled with free shipping above 35$ will surely create fierce competition for MUG. But that’s beside the point! Today I am just trying to share my love for this beautiful warm soft coral called Tuscan Sun.  It is so pigmented and blends like a dream without much effort. Its a versatile shade too! I wear it on the crease with shades like `Come & Get It` or `High Strung`, I can also pair it with cooler shades like navy blue or pewter to bring a little bit of warmth on my eyes. I have also worn it all over the lid and it looks very beautiful and happy. Crème Brulee appeared in last year`s favourite. I think this the most used MUG shadow for me. It is almost the same as my skin tone. So I love to use it on my crease, especially if I go  too heavy with my colorful crease shades. It acts like an eraser and can make the blending much smoother. I love this shade, & I can see hitting pan this year. Check detailed review here.

Tell me more about your favorites this month or rather last month :-)

Colourpop Haul :-)

This May, Colourpop Cosmetics turned 3. In celebration of their birthday, they were/are offering some killer deals throughout the month of May (check more here).  I of course, placed 2 orders -for the first haul, I spent just 41$ and got a few free items as well. The second haul cost me 32$! It was without doubt my best purchases from Colourpop in terms of value. But, of course it came with a little bit of guilt. I did not really need all of these, I just wanted was some blue shades for a series I am planning, but these damn deals are just impossible to pass on. I gave in!

Now, I am going to be a productive blogger and share my haul with you guys! If you regularly visit my blog you may notice that I do hardly post hauls, I mainly focus on intensive reviews accompanied with makeup looks I created. I love to blog with detailed swatches and looks! But today I am here just for the haul. I will eventually have detailed reviews but I think, right now the most important thing was to get the swatches posted. Colourpop shadows cost $5 for a pop that contains 0.074 oz. product. I have been a bigtime fan of their super shock shadows (I love the shimmery ones tiny bit more but I can work with the matte ones as well). Also, they recently launched an array of pressed powder shadows. The deal they were running where $10 for 3 eyeshadows so I picked a total of 10 Super Shock shadows and 5 from  the new pressed shadows. Let’s discuss the ones that are relatively new!

Come and get it (Pressed shadow): I have fallen in love with this shade. Its so creamy, so easy to work with and stays put with or without primer. The shade is just absolutely gorgeous! It’s a beautiful coral shade with a gorgeous gold duo-chrome. This is becoming a fast favorite.
High Strung (Pressed shadow): Another creamy shimmery shade with excellent quality. It looks kind of similar to Come and get it, but it is much more bronzy.
Sandbar (Pressed shadow): I am planning on a “colorful blog” post and I noticed I don’t have a whole lot of pink in my collection. I have not used it yet. It is beautiful pink shade. But these two pink shade has already stained my hand when I was swatching it.
Hot Totty: Talking about pink, I had to pick it up! Have not used it yet.

Like I said, I am planning on colourful Eyeshadow series! My love for blue eyeshadow is what give me confidence to wear bright colours. So, I am going to start with blue first. `Coconut` is one of the most the most popular and older shade; I always wanted to pick it up.

Coconut: It is a satin teal kind of shade. I am excited to try it out.
Luckfully: I think I will love this more than Coconut. It is a much more deeper navy shade.
Telepathy: Bright Brassy-yet fluorescent golden olive-yellow shade. I don’t own anything like this. That is the simple reason I picked it up.
Shameless: I own Lace, Rex, Stereo. All of these have black base with different glitters. This is the only one I did not have, so I got. Plus, I don’t have many green shadows.
Arrow: Now this was a surprise buy. I never knew this was a shade Colourpop offered but it is actually very pretty. I am not sure how this will look on me but I am excited.

I also picked up the lip set called “Can't Stop, Won't Stop” (only because I wanted to get the free gifts)!

They also were offering free mini lipsticks with 20$ purchase. I scored Dopey, Frick N’ Frack and London Fog. I already had full-size of Frick N’ Frack and I love it. :-)

Here are items in my Second haul.

On The Fence: This is a pressed powder shade and I have only used it once. It appeared to be much drier than the other two.
Backseat: Another blue shade :-) I have not tried it yet.
Friskie: I got this for my sister. She wanted a black with tons of glitters.
Cusp: This a very green-y green! I have not tried it yet.
Dance Party: Beautyful light purple shade. ON my eyes however, it does not appear as beautiful as I thought it would be.
Cricket: This looks so incredibly complex on photos but it is quite simple bronzy grey type of a shade.

Mama: I got this Ultra Matte Lip for my sister. It is a beautiful wamr orange shade but it is such a dry formula on my lips.

Did you pick anything up?

Love,
~Arrru

Products I've Used Up/Empties Vol. 11

I never learn my lesson. Every time I post my empties, I promise myself that next time, I am not going to pile them for months! But eventually I accumulate so many things and it taked forever for me to wrap up talking about all of it! Nonetheless, here are all the products I used up since my last empties post (click here) back in February. I finished up a lot of skincare and quite a few makeup products from my #Finish17in2017 and #100ColorfulEmpties projects. I am quite happy about it :-)

Parachute Coconut Oil: Nothing new here! I go through a huge bottle like this every six months, I use it as overnight mask before washing my hair. It is a must-have for my hair.

Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel: I love a lot of products from PTR but this was nothing special. It is such a huge size; I had a hard time finishing this because I enjoyed some other cleansers more! It was almost near its expiring date so ended up using this as bath gel. Yes, I am frugal like that :-) Will not repurchase.
Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Body Wash: It was a good exfoliating wash, gentle and easy to work with. It had a very faint herbal smell. The bottle freaking huge, it took me a while to use it up. And by the end of it, I really got extremely bored. For that reason alone, I don’t think I will repurchase.
The Body Shop Mango Shower Gel: I am not a huge fan of Body Shop scents but I do like Mango so I happily used up this travel-size but I don’t see myself repurchasing. It was nice while lasted.
Philosophy Purity Cleanser & Amazing Grace Shower Gel: I love both of these products. I got super excited about these perfect travel size bottles. However, they leak and I cann’t use them while I travel via air. I used it up when I took short one-day tours where air travel is not needed. I currently am using full-size products for both of these.
Versace Bright Crystal: I collect these tiny little deluxe perfume bottles; I love to display the empty bottles in different corners if my apartment. I cannot wear heavy perfumes and there are some perfumes that are super heavy and yet I cannot wear them more than 2 days in a row. This is one of them. It lasts at least 6-7 hrs. on me. It is primarily a floral scent but with warmth from amber and musk. I did like it and will collect deluxe samples but not interested in full-size.
Victoria’s Secrets Noir Tease: This is an item from #Finish17by2017 Project Pan and I am glad to get this finished up. I mostly used this during my off days or low key days. Will not repurchase.
Soap & Glory Hand Food: This is a decent hand cream. It is very moisturizing, takes a little bit of time to absorb. I got a few of these in a set last holiday and I am trying to use them up. I keep them at my work. I am not going to repurchase though.
Caudalie Premier Cru: I got this as GWP from Sephora, I think. But the tube is so deceiving; it looked so big but it was basically empty :-( It was a good moisturizer, like all Caudalie products it also had a beautiful smell.
Loccitane En Province Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Cream: I actually quite enjoyed it. It was a small jar so lasted me only 2-3 weeks but it gave enough moisturization for the entire day! The smell is quite rosy and it did smell like a natural, freshly plucked rose; it reminded me off childhood days when mom would ask us to pluck roses whenever we had some religious ceremony at home. I don’t need to repurchase a moisturizer right now but I will keep this in my “revisit” list! Also, the jar is quite unique, right?
Ahava Dead Sea Osmoter Concentrate: This was a tiny little sample bottle, I did like using it but it was not enough amount of product for me to know if I want to purchase full-size.
Korres Golden Krocus Ageless Saffron Elixir Serum: The bottle looked so pretty and the name of the product sounded so lavish and promising, unfortunately it did not do anything for my skin. I used it after washing my face as first step in my skincare routine. It absorbed very quickly, which was great but it actually left my skin feeling very dry and unhappy. I am disappointed.
Clarins Lift-Affine Serum: I actually enjoy using it, obviously this was just 2-3 usage which is not enough for me to judge a skincare product.
Belief The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb: I actually really enjoyed it. I loved the consistency. It was soft, highly moisturizing but not greasy or heavy. It also had some kind of a herbal scent, very faint but it was there. I also love how adorable is this tiny little jar :-) Right now, I have a lot of moisturizer to finish up but in winter I would definitely like to revisit.
Loccitane En Province Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Cream: I actually quite enjoyed it. It was small jar so lasted me only 2-3 weeks but it gave enough moisturization for the entire day! The smell is quite rosy but a natural rose; it reminded me off those childhood days when mom asked us to pluck roses whenever we had some religious ceremony at home. The freshly plucked rose smell! I don’t need to repurchase a moisturizer right now but I will keep this in my “revisit” list! Also, the jar is quite unique, right?
Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate: Naah, I did not like this as much as I was hoping. First of, I hated how it looked; white and slimy. And it takes a bit of time to sink in! Will not repurchase.

Lancome Energie De Vie Smoothing Plumping Pearly Lotion Essence: The consistency of this serum was quite interesting! It looked like a fruit juice when mixed with an oil. (I often eat grapefruit by mashing it with my hand and mixing it with salt and a few mustard oil, the juice definitely looks like that). It smells very refreshing and quite subtle. It also absorbs rather quickly so I did not have to wait for 5 minutes to apply my moisturizer. This is the second ever essence I tried after SKII and I enjoyed it. I realized that essences are much easier for me to use in comparison to serum, especially on daytime because I am always in a hurry. I liked it but I don’t know if I will repurchase, yet.
The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil: This is just a cult favorite product. I, however did not see any benefit to it. It was very weak to use against my hard core acnes. I eventually used it up by putting it in my bath.
CANE + AUSTIN 30% Miracle Pad”+: It tingled a little bit a few minutes after application. My skin felt fresh and clean. I used 3 of these which I feel is not enough to figure out if a skincare product is working or not. Right now, I have quite a few exfoliating type of product that I love, so I am not going to repurchase as of now.
Boscia Clear Complexion Blotting Linens: Love these! This lived in my purse hence the gross bitten up look :-) It absorbs the oil from your skin very quickly and very efficiently.
Boscia Luminizing Black Mask: I fell in love with this mask last October; I took this with me for my trip to India without even trying it. My parents hardly wear sunscreen and they love to work outside in the garden. Obviously, both of them has severe sunburns! I used this mask twice on them within 10-12 days and it worked like a charm. It removed the dirt and impurities and immediately revealed brighter cleaner skin – for both of my parents! My sister loved it too. I also have been using it every other week. I enjoy the peeling action; it is so satisfactory! You have to mindful to use the right amount of product for layering. If the layer is too thin it will not peel off nicely and if its too thick it will take forever to dry! I already have brought a full-size! It gets rid of any whiteheads I may have, it gets rid of some of my facial hair (I have a lot) so my skin look immidiatly brightened and alive. But it does not leave my skin dry. I love that Sephora gives this as Gift with Purchase many many times but I already have repurchased.
Herbivore Blue Tansy AHA + BHA Resurfacing Clarity Mask: I have been using this mask at least once every week and I truly think it has helped clear my acnes to a certain degree. I am going to write a detailed review pretty soon so I would not babble much today. All you need to know is that I already have repurchased.
Farmacy Hydrating Coconut Gel Mask Deep Moisture Cucumber Mask: The mask itself was a bit strange for me, it is felt like a sheet completely made out of gel. It is in fact a gel mask, but it is a weird consistency for me. I lied down using this, but I have coming in terms that I don’t like the feeling of sheet mask on my face. But it sure did hydrate my skin and kept it hydrated for a whole day. The second day I could see dome dry flakes resurface. It is very pricey, so I am not sure if repurchase.
Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels: I got this 4-pack set as a GWP from Ulta and I did like them. I use two of them while rest were used up by my mother and sister. We all enjoyed it. It was very cooling and hydrating. And as someone who is not a big fan of sheet mask, I did actually enjoy them. I will probably repurchase it later on.
Karuna Clarifying Face Mask: These are some expensive and very highly rated sheet masks. I bought a set last holiday set but I still have not start using them. But I got this $5 sale in my JC Penny Sephora and I thought it will be a good opportunity to try out to see if it is really worth the hype. Then, I can plan to use my sheet masks from the set more strategically and save for more important days :-) But, I did like this one. Application was nice, it stayed on nicely and and gave me a very refreshing, somewhat noticeable glow. I liked that. This was an acne mask and I am not a fool to expect complete recovery from my acnes. But for that 5$, I thought I got my moneys worth.
The Estée Edit Dissolve the Drama 2-in-1 Makeup Remover + Cleanser: I had never used an oil cleanser before! Not sure if that’s why I really enjoyed this. As I try more of this kind remover, I would be able to estimate more precisely if it is a REALLY GOOD product. But it did remove the majority of my base product when I used it as the first cleanser. You apply this on dry skin and add water to it. It will turn milkier and when splashed it will remove the makeup! I sure do need to use a face wash as a second cleanse to remove the feel of this oil from the face.
Bioderma Micellar Water: I have so many thoughts on this. I bought a set with two big bottles and this travel size. I am currently working on one of the big jar but I still cannot decide if it is worth the price tag. Hence, not sure if I will repurchase.
Yes to Cucumber Cleansing Wipes: I am not a fan. It was dry and did very little to remove my makeup! Will not repurchase.
NuFace Prep-n-Glow: I got this as a sample from Sephora. It is a dual sided cloth that claims to cleanse, Exfoliate and hydrate. I find it to be nice for one use. But personally, for me, one use is not enough to decide if I want to repurchase. I will surely scoop up more if they offer it again as sample.
Bvlgari Cleansing Cloth: Honestly, I actually forgot when I used it. But I bought it in a set and I am still trying to use up the little perfume bottle. I take it when I travel, and I have the full size bottle. It is one of my favorite scent. I don’t think I will repurchase wipes though.
Philosophy Amazing Grace Whipped Body Creme: I actually really enjoyed this crème. The scent is beautiful and mild, it absorbed quickly and kept me moisturized (I used this during winter end-spring weather). I can see myself repurchasing this at a later time.
Josie Maron Whipped Argon Oil in Vanila Bean: I actually really enjoyed the formula, it was quite hydrating. It takes a little bit of time to absorb but I think the formula will be excellent in winter. However, I did not enjoy the smell. It was almost like a vanilla ice cream scent and I do not like that on my body.
Ahava Mineral Body Lotion: Another body lotion I really loved using. It has a beautiful perfume, it sunk into the skin very quickly and gave a good amount of hydration. I have a ton of moisturizer to go through but I may repurchase eventually.

As you can see, I finished up a lot of skincare and quite a few makeup products from my #Finish17in2017 and #100ColorfulEmpties projects. I am quite happy about it!

Here are my makeup items :-)

Too-Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer in (Medium to Deep): Yay, another product from #Finish17by2017 Project Pan. It was easier to carry around when I am travelling. It’s very matte and the color is not too warm or cool! Great for everyday use, it gave me a very faint hint of warmth and I could really pile it on without risking to look muddy. It fades very gracefully as well! The chocolate smell also does not hurt. There are definitely some other bronzers in my collection that I like more than this but this one is a strong favorite. I already have 2 backup deluxe sizes.
Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Rupture: I got this mini deluxe size in some kind of Gift with Purchase from either Sephora or Ulta. This formula has now been discontinued. I really enjoyed the formula and the shade is extremely wearable but a little unique for a simple work day. I will absolutely miss this in my collection. :-(
Tarte the Sculptor Contouring Face Slenderizer in Park Ave Princess™: I got this in 2015’s Sephora Favorites Superstars Set. I did not have too much expectation from this but I did actually enjoyed using it, it was a perfect in-between product to act as a bronzer and as well as a contour shade. It gives me just a little bit of shape without being too harsh! I need a very dense but small brush to blend this in. However, will I repurchase? Most probably not right now; I want to finish a few other bronzer or contour product before thinking about repurchasing. It’s creamy, easy to blend out and stayed nicely for 5-6 hrs.
Becca Backlight Priming Filter (Full review here): This is in my Finish17in2017 Project Pan and I am glad I was able to use it up. I love this and I already have another travel size but after that I definitely will repurchase. I mostly enjoyed using it like a moisturizer-type of product in the mornings. It immediately livens up my face and prepares me for blush and bronzer. I don't wear foundation but I love wearing bronzer, blush and highlighter on a day-to-day basis. So this helps me in evening out my skintone. It also smells nice and fresh! Definitely a favorite.
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water: It was a constant favorite throughout last year and it still is. The name has 'water' in it, so it seemed like a gimmicky product at an expensive price at first. Because it was in my Finish17in2017 Project Pan, last 2-3 months I have been using this very regularly. This tiny bottle lasted me a long time. I love how it makes my makeup application appear super smooth, every single time! No matter how carefully I exfoliate, I always end up with a few dry, flaky patches here and there on my face. Before I apply my foundation, I spritz this on my face, especially on the flaky, dry area. If I want to extend the wear time of my makeup, I spritz it again after I am done applying everything :-) My dry skin loves this product :-) I already have bought a full-size!

IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes Mascara: It was an average mascara. And it dried up quickly so overall I am not too impressed. I will not repurchase.
Stila Bronzing Beauty Balm: This little tube lasted me a long time. Loved mixing it with my foundation to apply on the perimeter of my face. It gives me a better color match & adds a bit of Bronzing. Not sure if I will repurchase.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer: This is my everyday concealer. I love the consistency, the coverage and I love how easy it is to use even without foundation. I have repurchased and already using it.
Beauty Blender: Absolute LOVE. This is as good as people say it is! Already have a few backups.

I also managed to finish some samples and to part away with some products that I don't know why I have been keeping for this long. I never use them!

Do you keep track of your empties?

Love,
