Pan 20 in 2020 ::: Project Pan Finale

Today I am here with the finale of my Pan 20 in 2020 project. When I selected these products for panning in early January, we had no idea what kind of year 2020 was going to be. I selected a lot of products that were my everyday go-to products - products that I would use most often and/or products that I would use for everyday work looks. But I spent almost the whole year working from home because of the pandemic. But I also got a lot of time during weekends to play with makeup. These changes in scenarios definitely affected which products I was able to use up and which ones did not really see much improvement.

But I am really very happy with my performance. I was able to achieve the goals I set for 11 items out of the 20 items. I finished some of the base products that we getting older in my collection. I am almost sure this is my most successful "pan xx in xxxx" project.

Here are all the products at the end of the year. See the table below for a comprehensive look at my performance -

And here is my performance along with the goals I set with each of the products -

1A) Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water (DONE): Yes, I finished it. I have a few drops which will not spray out anymore, so I am going to call it "done".

1B) Marc Jacobs Re(cover) Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist (DONE): Yes, I believe this was the first product I finished out of this group.

2) Becca Backlight Priming Filter (DONE): Yes, I did completely used it up sometime in August I think!

January, 2020

3) Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation (DONE): YESSSS! I am so freaking proud. I used it up around mid-December! Perfect timing 😍!

4) Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer: So, I was very confident that I will be able to use it up. This was my everyday concealer and as I have been working from home since Feb-March, I am not wearing makeup on week days and thus didn't get much use out of this.

5) Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops in "Sunlight" (DONE): My goal was to use up 3/4 of the product and I think I did that. I use it almost every time I wear glam makeup during the weekends.

January, 2020

6) Smashbox 24 hour Photo Shadow Primer: Hmm, I got very very close, but there is still at least a few week's product left in there.

7) Benefit POREfessional (DONE): This is such a tiny but mighty tube, I may get 2-3 more uses out of this. But for my own satisfaction, I am calling this "finished".

8) Hourglass Ambient Powder in "Dim Light": I promise I have been using this powder to set my concealer every time I wear makeup. But I didn't see much dent in the pan. So, no could not use it up.

9) NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow in "Himaliya": Another product that I used to wear to work but I have been working from home since Feb-March, I am not wearing makeup on week days so I didn't get any use out of this.

10) Makeup Geek Eyshadow "Crème Brulee" (DONE) & "Cocoa Bear": I performed exactly how I thought I would. I hit pan on "Creme Brulee" early in January or February and the pan is quite grown now. Panning "Cocoa Bear" was an ambitious goal because this shade is crazy pigmented and you really don't need a lot.

11) RMS Beauty Living Luminizer (DONE):  The goal was to hit pan. I  was able to achieve that early in the year but I was secretly hoping that I could completely use it up. I used to wear to work almost everyday,  hence used to get a lot of work. Not anymore since I am on WFH schedule. But the dip is getting deeper and I am happy about that.

12) RMS Beauty Buriti Bronzer (DONE): Yay, another product that I am super proud of. My goal was to use it up and I did it!

January, 2020

13) Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Eye Liner in "Indigo" & "Midnight": They are still showing some pigment so I am going to keep using them.

14) NARS Eyeliner in "Via Vaneto": This dried up before I could finish it. So I decluttered it.

15) Bare Minerals Bronzer (DONE): My goal was to hit pan and yesssssss, I did finally hit pan.  It sure felt like an achievement.
December, 2020

January, 2020

16) Marc Jacobs O!Mega Bronzer: To be honest, I was focusing on Buriti Bronzer and Bare Minerals bronzer so this one did not get much use.

17) Pat McGrath Matte Trance Lipstick in "Elson": Because this is an expensive product, I refrained from using it during my play-with-makeup days :-). So did not achieve the goal but I am okay with that.

18) Bite Beauty Amuse Bouch in "Verbena" (DONE) : Woohoo! I did completely finished it round late summer.
December, 2020

January, 2020

19) Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick in "Cin Cin": I have gotten some use out of it but did not completely finish it. I have an emotional connection to this shade! So, I am okay even if I didn't use it up.

20) Ilia Beauty Lip Conditioner in "Crimson & Clover" & "Nobody's Baby": My goal was to use 1/2 of both of these lip conditioners. I didn't quite get there but I did use them pretty regularly.

Did you do any project pans this year? If you did, how did you do with your goals?

Pan 20 in 2020 ::: Project Pan Update #1

It has been 4+ months since I posted my intro to "#Pan20in2020" challenge (see  post here). I thought it is high time I post an update regarding my progress.

Without much rambling, here are all the products as of April 30th, 2020 -

Pan 20 in 2020 ::: April 2020
Pan 20 in 2020 ::: January 2020

And here is my goal with each of the products -

1A) Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water: Before social life stopped due to Covid-19, I used this quite regularly. And as you can see, there is some noticeable progress and I am happy with that.

1B) Marc Jacobs Re(cover) Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist: FINISHED this! Woohoo! I loved using this, and I would love to repurchase it if it is available.

2) Becca Backlight Priming Filter: I see a lot of good progress and I am sure I will be able to finish it up before the next update.

3) Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation: Before the lockdown started this was my go-to foundation, so I am sure I have made progress, but it is difficult to figure out the progress.

4) Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer: Not much progress. This was my everyday concealer, mainly for wear-to-work purpose. Now it has been two months that I have been working from home (and we don't do video skype), so this has not been used much.

5) Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops in "Sunlight": I still love using this but there is just no way to figure how much progress has been made.

6) Smashbox 24 hour Photo Shadow Primer: Little bit of progress, even though I use this primer every time I wear eyeshadow.

7) Benefit POREfessional: Little bit of progress. This is such a tiny tube. And I use it on my cheeks quite regularly but it still does not end.

8) Hourglass Ambient Powder in "Dim Light": Not much of progress, even though I use this primer every time I use under eye concealer.

9) NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow in "Himaliya": No progress. I typically wear this eyeshadow to work and it has been quite a while since I last used this eyeshadow.

10) Makeup Geek Eyeshadow "Crème Brulee" & "Cocoa Bear": YES, I have hit pan on "Creme Brulee" and I have been making good progress in using it. Cocoa Bear hasn't seen much use but I am still hopeful I can hit pan this year.

11) RMS Beauty Living Luminizer: DONE. I have hit pan and I am making good progress in using it up.

12) RMS Beauty Buriti Bronzer: I can see the pan getting bigger and bigger as I have been using it quite consistently. I really hope I am able to use it up at the end of this year.

13) Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Eye Liner in "Indigo" & "Midnight": There are not much usage left out of these two liners. I think I can still get 4-5 usages! They all be done before the next update.

14) NARS Eyeliner in "Via Vaneto": This eyeliner finally died on me. It got so dry that I had to de-clutter.

15) Bare Minerals Bronzer: I use it every time I use makeup but it is not showing any sign of panning. Such a discouraging product to pan.

16) Marc Jacobs O!Mega Bronzer: I have not really using this much and that's ok. I am mainly trying to use up and pan the previous two.

The next few products are all lipsticks and this is where I haven't really made any significant progress. I have used a bit of Bite Verbana and Ilia Lip Conditioners but honestly nothing significant. Until the lockdown is lifted and I actually need to leave the house, I don't see any scope of making any significant progress on these lipsticks.

17) Pat McGrath Matte Trance Lipstick in "Elson": No significant progress!

18) Bite Beauty Amuse Bouch in "Verbena": No significant progress!

19) Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick in "Cin Cin": No significant progress!

20) Ilia Beauty Lip Conditioner in "Crimson & Clover" & "Nobody's Baby": Not significant progress!

Let me know if you are also doing any project pan challenges? I have plenty of spare time and I am all ears!

Pan 20 in 2020 ::: Project Pan Intro

From the last few years I have been trying to use up some of my makeup products. Having that goal and picking a few products definitely helps in the process. In short, I am participitaing in #Pan20in2020 (or #Use20in2020) project pan from Instagram. I will update it every quarter if not atleast half yearly!

Here are all the products -

And here is my goal with each of the products -

1A) Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water: As you can see, there is still a lot of left in the bottle. I love this primer water and do use it whenever I am applying foundation or whenever I am wearing a lot of face products. So, hopefully I can use up it.

1B) Marc Jacobs Re(cover) Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist: I was hoping to finish it in 2019 but I could not. But I am almost done. And that is why I am counting these two mists as one item.

2) Becca Backlight Priming Filter: This is one of my favorite product and there isn't a lot left. I am confident that I can use it up.

3) Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation: This is my holy grail foundation and my shade is Y415. It is very difficult to say how much is left in the tube as of now - when I took closely from the opening, I felt like 1/3 is still left. My goal is to finish up it.

4) Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer: This is my everyday concealer and my shade is Medium Dark Neutral. I can totally see this getting used up.

5) Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops in "Sunlight": When I opened the cap and looked closely, I see that I have used up half of the product. Because it is so VERY pigmented and I only need a little bit per use, I am aiming to finish only half of what is left. So the goal is to use up 3/4 of the product.

6) Smashbox 24 hour Photo Shadow Primer: I use this primer every time I wear eyeshadow but you only need little bit. So, hopefully I can Use up it.

7) Benefit POREfessional: This is such a tiny tube. My goal is to finish it up but I am doubtful; no matter I much I use it, it still does not end.

8) Hourglass Ambient Powder in "Dim Light": I feel like I use it regularly but I don’t see much dent in the pan. Fingers crossed I can use it up.

9) NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow in "Himaliya": I typically wear this eyeshadow to work. To pan this is a bit ambitious but we will see.

10) Makeup Geek Eyshadow "Crème Brulee" & "Cocoa Bear": I know that I will hit pan on "Creme Brulee" any day now, so to aim to "pan" this shade in this project is kind of cheating. Although, if I pan it early in the year, it will be greatly motivating to me! Panning "Cocoa Bear" however is an ambitious goal because this shade is crazy pigmented and you really don't need a lot.

11) RMS Beauty Living Luminizer: I have already hit pan on the highlighter a couple of days after I took this photo, so my goal is to use up it. I wear it almost everyday, especially to work. But it is very pigmented and you need just a little bit. So we will see I can finish it.

12) RMS Beauty Buriti Bronzer: I have already hit pan on the bronzer, so my goal is to use up it. I loved wearing this in the summer, and I will for sure use it next summer. I may or may not be able to use it up in it's entirety but I will at least get close to finishing it.

13) Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Eye Liner in "Indigo" & "Midnight": These were in my 2019 favorites. I used these quite a lot this year - they are still going strong and I am sure I will be able to finish them.

14) NARS Eyeliner in "Via Vaneto": This is the eyeliner that would not die. My god, I have been using it for so long but there is still so much left.

15) Bare Minerals Bronzer: Another product that is not showing any sign of panning. This was the only one bronzer that I had and till this day I use it REGULARLY. It must be packed in so very tightly I don’t see ANY sign of pan! I am getting frustrated at this point.

16) Marc Jacobs O!Mega Bronzer: Panning this 3rd bronzer is ambitions. If I am able to hit pan, I will be happy; if not that is also OK.

17) Pat McGrath Matte Trance Lipstick in "Elson": I loved and used this shade throughout 2019. See my Beauty Favorites for 2019 here. I have already used almost half of it. Fingers crossed I can use it up!

18) Bite Beauty Amuse Bouch in "Verbena": This is a perfect everyday shade. I love using it for work days. I don’t really use it everyday but again it is a very small travel size lipstick. So it should be easy to finish.

19) Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick in "Cin Cin": This is the first Bite lipstick I got and I have been hooked to the shade ever since. I use it a lot but I probably need to use it up before it expires.

20) Ilia Beauty Lip Conditioner in "Crimson & Clover" & "Nobody's Baby": My aim is to use 1/2 of both of these lip conditioners. They are lip balms so it is easier to go through. A bit ambitious goal but I can layer them over other regular lipsticks and over liquid lipstick, so I am hopeful.

Wish me luck guys! Let me know if you are also joining in, may be we can encourage each other.

My first ever Project Pan ::: FINISH 17 BY 2017

I am a makeup hoarder and I experiment with a lot of products. Parallelly, i do try to finish up my products. Skincare is easy to get done with as I use them regularly without fail. However, I don’t wear makeup every day and that makes it quite difficult to finish makeup products. I see Project Pan photos all the time on Instagram and it feels like it is a great motivation in producing more empties. I personally feel very hesitant to commit to any hard-and-fast challenge/project! There is a first time for everything though and I think I am going to act brave and participate in “Finish 17 by 2017Project Pan. I don’t even know if it is a real thing and I may have misunderstood it to be “Finish 17 in 2017”. But basically, I am going to do my best in using up 17 products from my collection during 2017. I am not sure if I will have intermediate updates but I will definitely have final update in the month of December, 2017. You know, if life still treats me nicely :-)

I buy a lot of value sets and most often I end up having a lot of travel size or deluxe size products. I think I have 6 full-size products here and rest are mostly travel size. I am sure that it is accepted for the project, ha ha! Also, I am counting 2 deluxe-size products that are similar as one for the challenge! I think it will give me more room to be flexible and use them in rotation without getting bored. Here is to hoping! Let’s check out the products here -

Palladio Herbal Foundation Primer: It is the first ever primer I tried and I am almost halfway through it. I do like it and enjoy it. I am not sure if I will repurchase but I really like how it works with my dry skin to give me a better surface to apply my foundation. Fingers crossed, I should be able to finish it!
Becca Backlight Priming Filter: I really ENJOY this. It is a great glowing type of primer and I have made quite a progress on it. I am hoping I can finish it and if I do, I can replace it with the other same-size tube I have.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation in “True Beige”: This is the first liquid foundation I bought and I was happy that I picked up the right shade in my first trial. It is very difficult to guess how much I have already used but I am assuming I have about 1/3rd left. I have 2-3 other foundations now so I am not sure how often I am going to use it but I will try.
IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC cream in “Tan”: I did not really enjoy it the first two trials but I have been using it last 2-3 days and I do like it. I guess the shade and the formula suits me better in these colder days. There is not much product here so I am combining this as one item with my Revlon Foundation.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer in: This is ONLY concealer in my collection now and I don’t feel any need for trying out a different one. I am sure I am going to repurchase. It’s almost gone and I am excited to see if I can really use it all up!

Stila Stay All Day 10-in-1 HD Bronzing Beauty Balm: It is a deluxe sample I got in a set last year and I do use it quite regularly. I mix with my foundation to alter the shade or to use it on the perimeter of the face. I do really like it. it is such a small tube but I just can’t seem to make any recognizable progress on this. Let’s see how it behaves in 2017.

Tarte Contouring Face Slender in “Park Avenue Princess”: It is a small product, and I use it quite often as a face slenderizer with a bit of bronzing effect. I do like it but not a huge fan and I don’t see myself repurchasing. I am not 100% sure that I will be able to finish it but I will try.

Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray: I am not very regular about using setting spray. I have dry skin and in the colder climate here I don’t really feel the need to wear any setting spray. I still do think I can use it up if I put in an effort. It’s not a big bottle.

Lorac Travel-size TANtalizer Highlighter & Bronzer Duo: I am only including the bronzer in this project. It’s very warm, pigmented and blendable. I love it and have hit pan already. I am looking forward to using it up!

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer in “Medium/Deep”: I used the hell out of it in the first half of the year. I love that it is matte. There is not much left here but I am getting a bit bored with it so we shall see if I get around to using it enough to finish it up.

Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee in “Pink Escape”: Another product that I am using very less these days. Depending on the condition of the health of my cheek area, I tend to have a love-hate relationship with this blush. But I have already hit pan on it and it will be very rewarding to finish it up. I mostly use it as a base layer over my other less pigmented blushes to layer.

MAC Paint Point in “Layin’ Low”: This is actually one of the few product from this set that I use almost every time I wear eyeshadow. I absolutely love it. I have shared this with my sister, so I have to give her credit for about 20% of the usage you see. But that apart I am extremely hopeful that this will be completely used up! And I can surely assume I will repurchase when I do finish up.

Tarte EmphaseEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner in “Bronze”: This is one of my very favorite product from my entire collection. I use it as a one-and-done shade but never as a liner. I love the shade, and I love how simple and easy it is and how long it lasts on me. I used it very, very regularly since I had it but I have not been really grabbing it past couple of months. I thought putting this in the challenge will help me get back that in my rotation. I don’t think I am going to finish as there is still a lot of product left in it. But I will still love to see a progress on this. I am not sure if this formula is discontinued.

Lakme Eyeliner Kajol in “20 Midnight Black”: Without doubt it is the most frustrating product from this bunch. I have been trying very hard to use it as much as I can but I just don’t see any progress. It is a product from India and it reminds me of my teenage years because it was one of the products that I used it wear all the time. Old is gold, you know :-) If I am not able to finish it I will have to trash it!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in “Medium Brown”: I have been using it for quite some time. But I don’t use it every day, so it takes me a long time to use it up. But it looks like there is very little left. I am very sure that I will easily finish it :-)

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in “Rupture”: I got this mini deluxe size in some kind of Gift with Purchase from either Sephora or Ulta. This formula has now been discontinued. I really love the formula and the shade is extremely wearable for a simple work day. It was a tiny sample to begin with but there is very little left. I am pretty sure it will be completely used up during the first 2-3 months of 2017. But I am still keeping it in my challenge just so it can serve as an encouragement for me!

Smashbox Be Legendary Lipgloss in “Pout”: It is one of the very few lip-glosses that I regularly use and it is a full-size product. I love the formula. However, I am not going to be overambitious and say that I will finish it completely but a girl can definitely try, right?

Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil: I have started using this since late last year or was it early Spring this year; I don’t exactly remember. I have no idea if it is helping my cuticle health but I do feel its absence when I don’t use it. My toe-nails sometimes start to pain especially around the cuticles area. Especially if I am walking a lot or if it’s too cold! I apply this once or twice a day and it takes away the pain. I think I will go through it fairly easily :-)

Victoria’s Secrets Eau de Parfum in “Noir Tease” & “Angel”: These two are completely full. I bought this in a set when I just started getting crazy about beauty blogging :-) My choice of perfumes has definitely matured. But I will try to finish these. I typically wear these when I am at home or when I have very short activity like simple grocery shopping. I still use my regular perfumes so these will be actually secondary perfumes.

These are all my products that I am trying to pan next year and I am hoping I am successful in the very first Project Pan. Please wish me luck guys! Also, join me! Even if you just a few products you are trying to pan, do share with me :-)

Love,

~Arrru
